Wrapped, Stacked & Layered Challenge

Almost 80 sites are participating in the Wrapped, Stacked & Layered Challenge Blog Hop organized by Make Bracelets' Tracey Statler. The challenge is just to create an interesting assemblage of wrapped, stacked and or layered bracelets. Here is my stack (you might be able to tell that I am obsessed with coiling wire right now)! #3 and #5 were not made by me.

1. Coiled brass and copper wire with Raku beads
2. Coiled Brass wire
3. Indian brass bangle
4. Silver PMC, Raku and carved horn beads
5. Indian turquoise bangle
6. Coiled copper wire with Raku beads

Thanks for hopping by and be sure to hop to the other participating sites;

  4. Beautiful coiling Kathy. It makes a nice pairing with your beads! Your prop is pretty cool too. I can't quite tell what it is - but it looks neat with the bracelet stack. Thanks for sharing your work!

    1. The prop is a Raku vase. It's designed to hang or sit in a stand...we always have plenty of pots laying around.

    1. I have a few beads listed on my Etsy store. More should be coming soon as we get ready for our first Raku firing of the year next weekend. I have several hundred beads to be fired.

  12. I love how some of the copper is oxidized and the last piece is shiny. All the pieces go so well together. Raku beads with brass and copper and Turquoise - very nice combo!

    1. You can see a close up of #4 at http://sedillohillstudio.blogspot.com/2012/03/silver-pmc-bead.html

      # 5 is turquoise inlay bangle from India that I have owned since the '70s. (oh dear, does that make it vintage or an antique?) I used to have an armful but over the years, they've dwindles to just two or three.

  15. There is definitely a lot of coiling going on in that stack, but it gives the stack a really nice texture. Cool!
